I guess you and I have had a broader experience base of working with individuals who have had less resources that we do and we have empathy for the less affluent as well.

What a crock of crap. I have siblings who have been living off of welfare for 25 years. I grew up in a "less affluent" home that had "less resources". The difference between me and my "poor" siblings is that I decided that I wanted to take responsibility for my life and that I was willing to work hard to have a decent life.

Maybe the reason you have more empathy (really sympathy) is that you only saw the surface. You see that they have fewer resources and are less affluent and therefore they must be victims of rich people. What I see is that they made decisions that have kept them less affluent and now the liberals want to reward them for their bad decisions. I don't believe in rewarding bad behavior.

If you don't see that there are huge numbers of "poor" people who are gaming the system then you are blind.

You should watch the documentary of a West Virginia poor family. "The Wild & Wonderful Whites of West Virginia". They are very happy with the government support that they receive.
