It's good that you see that there are people gaming the system. When you reach the understanding that the vast majority of the handouts that are paid out are to physically and mentally able people, then you will start to understand some of my objections. But even beyond that, many of the government grants and funding out there are ridiculous and qualify as government handouts. It is not the job of the government to hold our hands and fill our tummies. The government is simply supposed to set the table.

It may not be easy to find the exact job that everyone is looking for, but there are jobs out there. Lots of jobs. Lots of opportunities. We just have to be willing to be flexible and willing to train and/or educate ourselves to get qualified for those jobs.

as far as solutions:
Unions are the single biggest reason that good jobs have been outsourced to other countries. If we could eliminate unions in the U.S. it would do a great deal to bring those jobs back home.

Then I think we need to take away the incentive to avoid getting a job.

Then I think we need to close our borders to all but the most qualified immigrants. And certainly completely close our borders to illegal immigrants.

If we find illegal immigrants here, we need to stop ignoring them and send them back to their own country.
