It seems to me that, when analyzing acts of human aggression, one should consider the motivation.

It may look similar from the outside if you are, perhaps, from Mars.

"Christmas came early" is different from "I am mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore."

If a few people are mad as hell, that's a riot. If an entire country is as mad as hell, that's a revolution.

Hmm, perhaps you can't see this?

Is it possible that, in China, the violent acts of a few individuals threaten the fabric of society?

I don't really grasp the Chinese government's hostile reaction to individualism, myself.

Maybe there's something there -- individualism vs. collectivism and conformity?

I have a hard time believing this because you are an educated man.
