Tomcat, Why do you have to make personal attacks against those who disagree with you? Most generally, those who make such personal attacks do not have have any compassion for others. Others, may be frightened that the situation of others may happen to them.

Fear has a tremendous affect of our emotional stability. I personally know of individuals who have lost their jobs between the ages of 45 - 65 or Social Security age. Human Resource managers have to make the decision whether they wish to hire individuals who may not have the proper skill sets, health, remaining years of productive and further cost to the organization.

My niece is currently in that position with no opportunity to be employed in the future. She has had to move back in with her parents who are in their 80's. Another case was a son and daughter-in-law and family had to move back with their parents in my city. In addition they were taking care of their aging parents.

I can not see where the jobs which require high skill sets for salaries supporting a family are going to come from - surely not from the retail industry or restaurants or fast foods at minimal pay. Each of you should read the book, "Nickel and Dime" to get a perspective on how those who are less affluent live.
