Most interesting historical colour there. Thanks.
We either elect to follow laws, rules, or customs or not. I like to think I can play the game at whatever set of rules, or lack of rules apply. I prefer to live with civilized people.
Do we jail the guys who commit crimes or not? Al Greenspan says not to jail people for committing fraud. That's odd because I worked for a bank for several years and worked in a department called "The Fraud Department" and I was informed that fraud is indeed a crime.
“Well, Brooksley, I guess you and I will never agree about fraud,” Born, in a recent interview, remembers Greenspan saying.
“What is there not to agree on?” Born says she replied.
“Well, you probably will always believe there should be laws against fraud, and I don’t think there is any need for a law against fraud,” she recalls. Greenspan, Born says, believed the market would take care of itself.

So I guess I am not a fan of "Uncle Al". I have since heard that "Red Ken" was hated by Tony Blair and also Rupert Murdoch. So... maybe I should let bygones be byegones and put him back on my Christmas card list?
Just reading Red Kens bio, I never realised how close our tracks were at times,... Paddington, Camden, Brent (Harlesdon), Kilburn, Mada Vale, Willesden... I just followed the kooks, and moved into the properties... Shall I show you some of the triumphs? Some of them are corkers... -g-
