We have a terrible alcohol problem in my state. I was the State Director of the Office of Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse and wrote the first state plan; and lot's of alcoholics in my family.

Small amounts of alcohol extend your life, and large amounts destroy your brain and body. Withdrawl by big drinkers can cause delirium tremens which requires hospitalization. Fetal alcohol syndrome is pandemic in my state. If you can handle it fine if not stay away.

Pot is the better drug IMO. Pretty safe, few side affects, a sedative instead of fomenting violence and no addiction or withdrawl or fetal pot syndrome-lol. In fact it may protect the brain according to research done at Scripps.

PS I am 1/2 Scot (I have a clan name-lol). Just never been there.
