>>We are in real trouble, we are agreeting too much lately!
I think we need to keep a tab on the days that we agree and disagree and see if there is a pattern--may be bio-rhythms, or some thing like that:)
>>You certainly don't have Elaine G. in mind when you wrote that, do you? -g-
I have in mind a string of people who have fallen to this phenomenon including Granville, Prechter, Eliades, Elaine G and so on; I suspect that the day will come when Abby Cohen, Acampora and others who are hailed today, will also end up being vilified. I guess the truth is that NO ONE can call the market direction CONSISTENTLY and it is in some respects like playing black-jack, when one is on a hot streak -- it is important to maintain some perspective and recognize that the reason that one is winning is not sheer skill. Now that is not to say that some people are not better than others in calling the market's direction--but I have found the ones that seem to have some staying power are those who recognize that they just might be wrong and therefore remain flexible, without being fickle.
Actually with regard to Elaine G., I give here credit for having had the gutsiness and flexibilty to acknowledge that she was wrong in her call. |
