Clyburn not totally off the reservation - letting the Bush tax cuts expire is not technically a "new" higher rate - but I agree with you, it's a mistake to open negotiations this way. Silly posturing is not helping anyone.


Clyburn is working on the assumption that the Bush tax cuts will expire in 2012, and that combined with ending loopholes and ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, they'll find the new revenue they need.
