SolarWinds Newest Free Tool, Web Transaction Watcher, Easily Records and Captures
Web Transaction Results

Web Transaction Watcher Tool Makes Monitoring Web Transactions for Problems Easy

AUSTIN, TX, Aug 17, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- SolarWinds(R) Inc. (SWI), a
leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, today
announced the latest in its suite of over 20 free IT tools, Web Transaction
Watcher. This free tool allows users to easily record and capture the results of
a web transaction, providing a notification if it detects a problem.

Web Transaction Watcher is extremely easy to use by starting the recorder,
performing the steps of the transaction as any customer would, and hitting the
stop button. The test can be replayed as often as every 30 minutes and Web
Transaction Watcher will let the user know if there's a problem.

Web Transaction Watcher is the companion free tool to Synthetic End User Monitor,
also announced today. If users decide to upgrade to Synthetic End User Monitor,
their existing Web Transaction Watcher transaction recordings will not need to be
re-recorded. Both Synthetic End User Monitor and Web Transaction Watcher work
well with SolarWinds Application Performance Monitor (APM) to understand system
status from inside the server to outside the application, to more accurately
pinpoint problems. Synthetic End User Monitor offers frequent testing from
various locations, multiple alerting options, and historical data.

"We know our customers are going to love how easy the Web Transaction Watcher
recorder is to use with no scripting necessary," said Josh Stephens, SolarWinds'
Head Geek and VP of technology. "All they need to do to monitor their web
transactions is to hit record, go through the transaction as an end user would,
and hit stop. They are going to love it!"

Highlights

--Monitors web transactions through synthetic user tests, reporting on
duration and success
--Sends alert if transactions doesn't complete, doesn't provide expected
results, or doesn't complete in pre-determined time threshold
--Demonstrates ease of use of recorder, existing recordings compatible
with Synthetic End User Monitor
