It worked marvelously for years with the Soviets and the Chinese. Why should the Iranians be any different?
Say what you like about the Soviets and the Chinese, but they were (are) rational actors for whom a future on earth is important.

Are you 100% sure that airstrikes will hit everything that needs to be hit considering that the Iranians have undoubtedly considered their vulnerabilities to airstrikes?

I doesn't have to hit everything; just enough to set them back a couple years. I never bought the argument "it's futile to attack their facilities because it won't end the program, just delay it for two years." If they continue working on it, then repeat the attack every two years. Eventually, they might conclude that they'll never get to fully develop a nuclear capability.
