Bruces holdings, really betting the house on AIG, I been adding to this name but I prefer the Warrants so holding the stock I have and buying the warrants instead, less money @ risk and have extra leverage. No doubt about it AIG looks irrationally priced like most financials. Also, note some other gurus have been buying AIG recently when for a long time Bruce was the only one. AGO a large holding for Wilbur Ross has come down significantly so got some of that name recently, insiders have been buying recently. ORI is another name that insiders are buying and has come down significantly from its highs; Kahn owns a chunk of this name. Wilbur also has been buying XCO that name looks interesting. I am too scared to touch IRE another one of his holdings. I have come to the conclusion our financial companies have never been stronger than they are now and they are the cheapest they ever been valuation wise. I think the Politian’s, Europe, TV and the memory of the financial collapse a few years ago are making people shy away from these names. I know I am fighting with myself as my portfolio keeps sinking and hope I can hold out to realize the great returns these names should provide looking out. It is really tough doing what Bruce is doing I have no idea how he holds conference calls and speaks to the media. Every time I take a hit with these financial names I am swearing inside and no way would I be speaking to outsiders. I still respect the man and think he is one of the great money mangers going just was a little early, what was cheap got even cheaper which most likley will get even cheaper. We might see his fund down over 40% if the current market climate does not change. It will be very interesting how small his main fund becomes with redemptions and sinking stocks.
