Some saw it!! But Obama chose to freeze them out. He didn't want to hear it and didn't want the fight.

Both Krugman and Stiglitz yelled to the tree tops the stimulus was not large enough to deal with depression at hand and would not work. Over and over and over they yelled this. But Obama wanted nothing to do with Stiglitz and Krugman. Instead he listened to Rahm and Geithner and Summers and his political friends.

Even more prescient, Krugman also predicted there would not be the poltical will to go back for another stimulus. And so it all happened EXACTLY as Krugman predicted.

So let's give Krugman and Stiglitz their due. They saw it clearly and Obama dismissed them. And one could predict they would be right and obama wrong, as they are among the smartest economists in the world.

It was Obama's lightweight team of economists and economic politco's that misjudged things. He had fair warning from the truly best and brightest. He also saw Krugman and Stiglitz as radicals. Part of the lefty mafia as you say.

Obama wanted "moderates"-lol.

<<I continue to agree. Unfortunately for Obama, the mess has proven to be much more serious than once thought.........the nadir of the recession much deeper than first believed. Its been a huge and daunting struggle. Nonetheless, I think the country is getting better albeit slowly. I base that on the statistics I review and not on conjecture.
