Hmm, just sitting around the house waiting for the clothes dryer repair person to show, thus reading the threads, etc.

Do I ever see an end to the present "divisiveness?" Hard to say. Sometimes crossing these barriers just leads to passing more barriers. And if some of the sociological and political science analysis of politics these days, that, at least from the tea party side, it's becoming more about a worldview than getting policies right, then we be at the beginning of something, not at the end. Ouch, that sentence is terrible.

But there is a constant here, at least for democratic societies. And I suspect the elements I mentioned are always there. There relative strength might well vary given the conditions.
