No question in my mind that it was the blender - she told me so.

She was not too excited about spending their retirement money on a boat and because she figured she'd be down below fixing the drinks and food. Sailing was his passion - not hers - as is often the case.

Can't tell you how many couples I've known who have broken up because of his passion for sailing. Only when the woman is an equal partner in the sailing of the boat is it successful. If she's relegated to being a first mate in charge of the galley, it seldom works - unless that's what she wants. Being below while underway often leads to becoming seasick. Lots of single guys on the docks.
