"It's rather sad when supposedly intelligent people lose all sense of objectivity, and forget the basics of the scientific method"

No loss of objectivity here. As I said in the first post... if I were writing a scientific paper I would run a control run. I would expect any referee to reject that paper with out one.

My point is this.... what Isle Chem was doing for JBI was not a scientific research project for publication.

IsleChem was testing a process and then doing research and engineering to enhance and characterize a commercial process.

If you recall the early statements from JBI, JBI said that at the beginning IsleChem was reluctant to even to even look at the JBI process because in IsleChem's judgement plastic pyrolysis produced a lousy end product at high cost. Bordynuil prevailed upon IsleChem to take a look. IsleChem agreed with the proviso that its name not be used by JBI. After initial testing IsleChem looked at its results and agreed to work with JBI, subsequently allowing JBI to use IsleChem's name and providing a statement of results on Isle Chem letterhead.

IsleChem already had a baseline understanding of the plastic pyrolysis process to work from. They felt there was no need to run the control experiment that you desire since the results they were getting were way better than expectations.
