It's a mad house around here in CT. People are going nuts looking for generators, flashlights, "D" batteries, and bottled water. I'm all for preparedness, but unless you have an industrial size generator, the $600 ones Home Depot is selling generate only 5000 watts for five hours on five gallons of gas. Have fun keeping that going for an extended power outage considering the gas pumps run on electricity. Flashlights are fine, but never in my entire life have I ever experienced the water shutting off.

In any event, here's a picture of the local Stop & Shop picked clean of water. Note how the soda is still fully stocked.
