The first nuke was dropped August the 6th.

The second nuke was dropped August 9th.

Japan surrendered August 14th with Hirohito's radio message August 15th.

I'll be more than happy to read anything you have to the contrary, including information different than what I've read over the years of the timeline between August 6th and August 15th, even the attempt on Hirohito.

I know it was one of the most horrific things man has ever done. But I see no alternative, something that would have been better, even 66 years later. Tell your wife I am empathetic to the horrors her nation suffered, as I am sure she is also, to what the world suffered at the hands of her nation and it's allies, during that time period.
