Navio is a tough call. On the plus side for SPYG, there have been no
announcements about official contracts or deals with any of the
companies Navio claims to have backing their effort. This is something
that Navio's parent Netscape is quite eager and willing to do at the first
sign of any action. Comparatively, SPYG is currently engaged in several
existing partnerships with device companies in this field. So Navio
would seem at best to be months behind the leading edge of the
technology, which is a few years in Web-time.
On the downside Netscape has the flash and the name recognition and
a brash business strategy that is already working on the PC market.
If they can use it to keep people interested while Navio scrambles to
put SOMETHING out there (before settling down to actually work on a very new
and different problem), things will get interesting. But don't look for
a real product out from Navio any time soon.
