Actually the areas that are really purple down here I like..think Sarasota and Tampa. Much of the rural and smaller areas are too red and hick while SE Florida is very blue NYC attitude except for the Rubio faction that is very red. It is certainly not as educated, forward thinking, out door eclectic types like you see in the bigger cities out west.. Have to differentiate east coast versus west coast blue and NYC blue versus anywhere else..lol I could easily live in Seatle or Denver area maybe even reddish SLC. Not crazy about very blue Portland at all though...

Unfortunately, too many of us, me included, are making moves based on our politics. Except for a nearly one year stint in SC, I have spent my entire life in blue states. It wasn't by conscious intent but I believe some sort of subconscious instinct played a role. It seems to me that its in the purple states where we will learn to get along........hopefully.
