There was little hype when Andrew came. Was only a hurricane for a couple days before it hit. As I watched it come in I thought to myself, this is a 150 mph hurricane and there doesn't seem to be any panic. It was even supposed to turn north and hit Palm Beach county and not Dade.

Not being a Floridian you probably don't remember but prior to Andrew, FL hadn't gotten a major hit for decades while lots of newbies had moved in who didn't even remember a major hurricane.

If Andrew came now you wouldn't need hype. You'd have one hell of a panic and bumper to bumper traffic trying to get out.

Now they hype the Cat 1's and tropical storms. All for ratings, ya know.

Now Obama is on TV assuring everyone free money is coming.
