i would like to add senator and practicing physician coburn of oklahoma and senator daschle were on together on some show like meet the press or fox news sunday BEFORE obamacare was passed. when the infant mortality rate thing came up, coburn got exercised and told daschle all the problems with infant mortality statistics could be found with medicaid. daschle gave no counter to coburn's assertion. i did some research of my own after that show, and it is true some states have really bad infant mortality rates with their medicaid. i recall hawaii had one of the worst records, but it's been almost two years ago. i could be wrong.

isn't medicaid as close to socialized medicine as we have so far?
