You are overlooking the fact that every one of the 5 supreme court justices that voted for the Citizens United Decision was nominated by a Republican. Not one of them was nominated by a democrat (including Obam's two nominations). And if you add Rhenquist who was as nuts and corporate friendly as the other five, that is six corporate friendly in a row.
Rhenquist (deceased), Scalia, Thomas, Alito, Roberts and Kennedy.
You need to recognize one party is helping the corporations take over our country much more than the other. It is a blatant fact, backed up by facts.
Wouldn't you say, if every single Supreme court justice who voted for the Citizens United decision and keeps voting for the benefits of the corporations over the benefits of the people, are nominated by Republican's, one should not vote for Republicans.
The citizens united decision (which was devasting to our freedom and probably unconstitutional) was another 5/4 decision, like so many before it. The corporations can now contribute unlimited amounts of money (to buy legislators) , and we cannot even know who they are. The campaign contributions could be coming from China or Russia for that matter.
Great decision. Not!
So you need to recognize the difference in the parties, if you want to apply a logical reaction and want to change the law. We are talingn aobut something 100% predictable!

Simple logic would tell an objective person, we need to reelect Obama, if for no other reason than changing the mix of the surprme court and reversing the citizens United decision.
We can depend on Obama to not name another Rhenquist or Scalia. But Perry, Romney or Bachman will appoint another Scalia.
That is crystal clear and, as mentioned, 100% predictable. |
