The mark-to-market value of my margin account today includes over $2,000 time value of short calls that expire in September. Whether calls are exercised or expire worthless, the time value will be eliminated by the expiry date September 16th. It will have the same effect on the mark-to-market value of my account as dividends in like amount would have, although unlike dividends they cap the upside of the underlying stock.. I like it !
