Liberal SOP is to say Republicans are either dumb, crazy, or evil. Or a combination thereof.

The 'Is Rick Perry Dumb?' Politico article basically concluded no, he's not.

Perry's been winning elections non-stop since 1984. The Air Force put him in charge of a C-130 crew and he flew missions all over Latin America, Europe, N Africa and the Mideast. They don't put expensive equipment and human lives in the hands of dumb or crazy people. Dumb and crazy people also don't win election after election (one of them with Karl Rove advising his opponent's campaign). In 1998, when Perry was still a Democrat, he was the chair of Al Gore's Democratic primary campaign. So even Gore and the Democratic party didn't think he was dumb or crazy then. So the dumb and crazy themes aren't going to fly.

As for the evil charge, they'll have to increasingly go after that. A problem is his likeability. Kicky Friedman likes him. He's friends with loads of people from the Aga Khan to Ted Nugent ... ZZ Top let him play drums with them once ... apparently to get to know him is to like him. How do you convince people someone they like is evil?
