Yup the deal is not good for BAC, I did not add much to my BAC position when it was @ its lows and the Buffet purchase makes me say what the hell. Yea we have the Buffet moat now, but I wish he would not think about investments when he is in the tub. I did add more money to MBI when it was near its lows I am pretty confident the decision will go there way. Recently I been listening to Jimmy and Faber adding to the Japanese financials I own as they hit 52 week lows. I have 30% of my money in Japan. I really like what I see from Japanese companies they are not sitting on there money they are putting it to work all around the world when everyone is either scared or light on funds. You are starting to see more and more companies buying back shares, increasing yields, trading below book and are up to there ears in cash. Looking @ a few of the Japanese financials I own MTU and NMR they do not have the headaches most of the big name financials over here have but are trading @ similar valuations. Take MTU for example they are almost the same size as a JPM or BAC they have close to 2 trillion in assets and are trading for about 60 Billion, but as BAC is trying to raise money they been buying up assets for pennies on the dollar in the USA acquiring the remaining shares of UnionBanCal in 2008, and buying a 21% stake in MS. There goal is to become the largest bank in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. NMR another company I have been buying purchased Lehman Brothers Asian Region along with the equities and investing banking in Europe and the Middle East. These Japanese companies are really conservative today because of there past crisis, like Europe and the USA is dealing with now. I expect these companies to take advantage of the European mess like they did during the USA financial panic. What makes me so excited about these companies is they are trading below tangible book have mountains of cash and you get conservitly run companies to take advantage of blow ups like Lehman, plus there neighbors to the fastest growing counties in the world.
