I think the state of the economy speaks for free trade.

i know you do, but the state of the economy speaks of socialism.

When it started in the 60's and more so in the 70's the economy collapsed.

we've never had free trade. USA trade has always been in a regulatory and tariffed environment.

Only the fact that we essentially created new industries in aviation and computers saved us.

industries are always wealth creators. it isn't about what saved us. it's about what has eroded our economy.. socialism.

Now that free trade has given that away as well we are again in a poor state.

free trade has given nothing away.

---

We still have tariffs, but they are too low. They are truely a double edge sword, if they are too high it is as bad as they are now.

we should have no tariffs at all.

---

It used to be that the US Government had a buy American act that essentially said just that. Now all of these many countries with trade agreements are exempt. So even the US Government does not buy many products made in America. If the companies making tanks, guns, and airplanes go under, then our defense will be weak when we have to buy from the French, Russians, or others for our weapons.

if we continue our socialist policies, the only defense we'll be able to afford is horses and chariots.
