yup....I remember once...oh probably 20 years ago, I was with a small startup and we went to a tradeshow in Chicago. We had a small booth and our display was basically a counter with a fold-up display board. It would take me 5 minutes to set the booth up. Instead, at least three union guys were called in to set the booth up and plug a power strip in. We got charged 2 hours for each guy. Completely ate through the rest of our budget.

Guess what we stopped doing? yup, no more trade shows in Chicago. Just too damned expensive to pay the union workers to do something that would take me 5 minutes.

I hear NYC is even worse.
