I can't understand why everyone is ragging on Abe. It's a "twitch" game. It is well designed in that once you figure out the puzzle, jumps, etc it is much easier the second time. There is no doubt that twitch games can be frustrating. You have to practice Abe for a while before it becomes really enjoyable. If you don't have the controls down (there are many things you can make Abe do) it is very easy to make repeated, frustrating mistakes. I know A LOT of people who have this game and none have even come close to giving it a thumbs down. There is just somewhat of a learning curve. Is this game just not your type of game? Did you practice controlling Abe enough? I work as an artist in this industry and have to say that the depth of design is impressive. The gameplay design may not be totally perfect, but the game shines as a whole. I am dissapointed that they didn't up the resolution for the PC version. While playing the PSX version I imagined the game on a PC with 1024x768 resolution, which would look very nice. TV res probably doesn't do the graphics justice on a PC screen. Maybe next episode.

Have there been any negative reviews in the press? Or positive ones?
