Q: What stocks do you choose to own in the Chinese stock market?
A: I like BIDU, SINA, and Alibaba Group (YHOO). But, at the moment, I only own YHOO of those.

Sina (NASDAQ:SINA)
Q: Do you own Sina now?
A: At the moment, I don’t own Sina. We sold some at the beginning of its bigger fall in late May and bought some back in the 70s a while ago and then sold it a few days ago. I still very much love Sina and greatly admire how they are growing the company and not rushing to monetize.

Baidu(NASDAQ:BIDU)
Q: I’m confused you optimistic about Baidu , but wanted to short Google, can you tell us the reason?
A: Baidu still has a lot of growth ahead of it. I think Google’s best days are behind it in search. As the Chinese Internet market grows, I feel confident that Baidu will also grow with it. They have good people.

Tudou(NASDAQ:TUDO)
Q:Tudou fell after its IPO–how do you view it? Do you like TUDO or YOKU?
A: I own YOKU right now. I think TUDO has shot itself in the foot in these last 10 months. it’s amazing. I don’t think TUDO lasts long because they’ll run out of cash and sell out.

Yahoo(NASDAQ:YHOO) (Alibaba Group)
Q: How do you view the resolution of the Alipay dispute? Was it satisfactory for $YHOO$ shareholders? What does it say to investors about Chinese holdings?
A: I was a great deal for Jack Ma, Joe Tsai, and Alibaba Group shareholders. I own YHOO because i see enormous value in their remaining stake in Alibaba Group. However, most Americans have no idea how large Tmall and Taobao are in China. I hope YHOO gets broken up into 3 parts.

DangDang(NYSE:DANG)
Q: DangDang is at 7.83 from a 16 issue price. Have investors lost confidence?
A: Yes, and really they have many reasons for losing confidence. The last earnings saw DANG’s margins drop from 19% to 14%, I believe. DANG has too much competition.

Q: How do you view [hot-tempered] DANG CEO Guoqing Li?
A: Ha ha. It’s interesting that he doesn’t appear on American media or on the investor earnings calls. I think there is a reason.
