Regarding availability of x-ray masks from IBM: About 6 months ago I asked for a quotation from IBM for a phase shift mask (NOT as difficult as an x-ray mask). After three weeks, I gave up and ordered one from DuPont Photomask (cost me $40,000 each). I still don't have a quote from IBM. A typical turn time (time from order to delivered mask) is less than a week. If IBM can't even quote in three weeks, it follows that x-ray masks are not really readily available. I'm NOT anti x-ray (or IBM - I'm a stockhoder), but masks are a BIG problem.
