Though my wife wears the equivalent of a luxury car on her finger, I must admit that I chose a tungsten carbide wedding band years ago...the funny thing is the stores selling them are overpricing them and probably have bigger margins there than with precious metals. A tungsten carbide ring should cost $30 at most, and I have not been able to scratch mine even when lifting weights, no polishing required either, and no upset if lost. It is a practical choice that is easy to stomach if you have other metals to fondle :) just don't pay $250 for one, they also sell overpriced titanium rings now, cost more than a titanium golf club weighing 100x more LOL
