9/2/11 Contest Update
Investors clever enough to score advance tickets to the party continued to celebrate Gold Rush Days. But will even their Wall Street suburb soon also turn into a ghost town?
You wouldn’t know it from the market’s drubbing on Friday, but stocks wound up pretty much even for the week. At the close, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was down -.53% YTD (vs. down - 1.23% YTD a week ago) and the Contest median was down -6.46% YTD (vs. down -6.28% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was down -6.50% YTD (vs. down -6.52% YTD a week ago).
GENE’s portfolio (up 45.79 % YTD) remained in the lead, while JIBAC’s portfolio (up 37.29%YTD) held on to second place and ROCKY’s portfolio (up 32.38% YTD) took over third place.
At Friday's close, 14 of the 38 Contest portfolios were in the black, while the same 14 of the 38 were beating the NBI.
