Medicare has helped a lot of people; nobody denies that.

The relevant question is about the morality of doing it at the expense of young Americans who had no say in the matter and stand no chance of benefiting from it.

It is simple. Your position is that it is acceptable for a society to take money from its children and grandchildren, effectively insuring they will suffer through hard times, so that current generations can have it easier. That is not my belief, and I don't think Rubio said one thing that suggests he believes it, either.

The solution is elimination of the program in favor of more personal responsibility and more perhaps a structural outline provided by the government. We may have to have higher Medicare taxes to bridge the gap, but I'm not willing to pay more until the program is fixed.
