The main criticism I have for Gross is he usually makes a fool of himself when he leaves his expertise in fixed income and tries to predict the market. It's hard for me to jump on board with the current issue because coming into this year it seemed like TBT would be the no-brainer investment of the year as interest rates HAD to go up which of course proved dead wrong. PTTRX which I believe is the no load version of Pimco Total Return is near the top in performance over 10, 5, and 3 years but is one of the very worst over one year or less. Jeffrey Gudlach who runs DLTNX hat has been recommended by Bob, publicly took the opposite view from Gross in what became somewhat of a famous public face-off and proved right, doubling Pimco's performance this year.
