>>>it seems we have reached that point with the latest elected top management in the usa government.<<<

Ohhhhhh. Shucks. Well. It's Labor Day weekend, so I will borrow from Olivaia Newton John..."Let's get political. Political. Let's get politicaaaaaaaaaal.

I had to call my CongressPuke yesterday. You see, it was announced that Fannie/Freddie was suing 17 banks for some ... $200 billion.

I say...this sounds to me like a civil matter. I mean...I don't see the word "indictment" anywhere. Soooo this is a civil suit.

Well...yes...I suppose.

I say...I want orange jumpsuits and plastic bracelets.

Well...what law was broken..these are always hard to prove.

I say....if I beat you out of $10 bucks, you might get a civil judgement against me. But somewhere in thre is a line - say $200 - where it becomes a felony - misdemeanor - whatever.

I see your point.

I say - i don't know where the corporate line is drawn, but you can be God*&mn sure it is a fer piece short of $200 billion.

I see, but...well..what law was broken?

I say...Did you ever hear of Al Capone?

Sure.

I say...Al Capone went to jail for tax evasion, didn't he?

Well...yes.

I say...he should have hung for murder, but the state had no hope of proving it, so it did the next best thing and got the filth off of the street.

Well...yes.

I say...for what did the Enron traders go to jail? Was it telling lies across state borders on the telephone lines. You know...wire fraud.

Well...I suppose.

I say...One can't be sued for $200 billion w/o some serious premeditated fraud. I mean...it's f*&king $200 billion. So...if the state wants to nail somebody, I can guarantee you there is some applicable law. The state just has to want to do it. And even if there isn't a law - which of course there is - you can investigate the hell out of them and keep them sleepless for a year - you know - just like DOJ is doing with Gibson Guitars right now. Except we aren't talking Indian ebony fretboards - we are talking $200 billion. You can't get sued for $200 billion w/o some serious fraud. You know...teacher - the dog ate my homework. You know - I just forgot to disclose to you that this paper I just sold you was worth $200 billion less than I said it was.

Now go kick some a%^.

Pissants.
