Nadine, re: "If the US economy is the result of Barack Obama's brilliance, and the Texas economy is a result of Rick Perry's stupidity, I think I'll happily vote for some of the stupid guy's results."
Then I guess you won't vote for Perry, at least not happily, because it's pretty clear to most rational people that the US economy's sad state is the product of a many factors, some of them are completely beyond his control and most of them are not within the exclusive control of Obama, and it's pretty clear that the same can be said for the Texas economy, which is very thankful for the huge increase in the cost of oil.
"I dunno, let's compare it to Obama's transcripts. Oh, wait, we can't. How come the smartest President ever keeps everything sealed? And how come his opponents' sealed documents leak all the damn time, but never his? Just asking."
I guess it's because people are out to get you. All reporters, all the time...never, ever, sleep because the Fox guys are falling down on the job. You know they haven't even proven that he was born in Africa yet?
As far as what Obama does in the joint session of congress, I hope he starts a fight. It's about time that we took the issues concerning this country and put them in the full light of day to find out what Americans really want. Obama has been too timid or too accomodating to take a tough stand requiring clear choices and this is the election that I hope he does because many of the positions your party advocates will, I believe, wither in the light. If I'm wrong and you prevail, then at least we'll know where this country stands. Ed |
