The "future" can stretch a very long way. Short the Dollar? Against what? Short Treasuries?Lots of people have tried that and lost their shirt, (including PIMCO's Bill Gross.) Currencies, whether Dollar, Euro, Yen, Won,Rembini,are here to stay, so the defining measurement of what investors are willing to pay for Gold is inflation; i.e. currencies lose value to goods and services. That may happen but its a very slow process and patience can be exhausted.
