Ok--Lonberg's solutions sound very reasonable to me.

If the "Green Team" is just spinning the statistics out of context for the purpose of political gain then I agree with you that "scare' tactics should not be part of the equation. For us lay persons thought it is hard to separate the scientific wheat from the chafe so sometimes we get sucked into this.

Yes, the bears may be adaptable. There are white "spirit bears" (so named by the indigenous natives) in the forests of British Columbia that may be remnants of adapted polar bears--though I don't know what scientists say about this (they look like ghost grizzlies).
