Style, There is another technology called DSLAM Access Multiplexer) for telco. However, in order to handle different connection types such as analog 56k, ISDN, T1, Ethernet, ISDL, FR, network mgmt, security,...telco would need RAC at PoP. CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier) would use RAC at PoP forcing the incumbent LEC to do likewise for home and business.
