Hey john, I'm with you. VSGN had lots of potential; my guess is this team will hold onto the BORL shares they get (they had 47% of vsgn) and hope to play a bigger role in what could become an industry force. VSGN's connections to nscp, orcl, et al may somehow help BORL, but otherwise I don't get it. SYBS made more sense, or some other middleware/tool aglomeration (IBM? LOTUS). Oh no -- don't say IFMX!!!

As you know, i am way long on IFMX, but they now have to do DBMSs well before they should tackle anything else -- and of course, they don't have cash but with 150MM shares whats a few more? kidding. I like ifmx, and hope they don't go this rouce.

Good news is that while on ifmx i averaged down from 22/12/9/7.5/options, i had no money left over to buy VSGN when I wanted to at 12/10/9. So I'm in at 6 (5.5 to 6.2; got cold feet at 4),
and out today at 7.75. Was watching borland, but they moved up too soon too fast and i don't think they can stay independent... so i'll take some of my covered calls on ifmx and this cash and buy some more ifmx if it dips, or options (may 7.5's or even Jan99 Leaps at 10) for $2 per share...

best of luck! sorry to see a buyout SO LOW, but maybe the combined company will be a winner.
