With the purchase of Affiliated Computer Systems in early 2010, Xerox ( XRX) transformed itself from a copier company into a multi-line business services company.

This is similar to the transition that IBM made under Lou Gerstner in the 1990’s, moving from a computer manufacturer to a services and software company.
