Actually Janet is one of the few people I respect in the political world. Tough job, little thanks. I understand Intel is looking for people to hire, yet IBM beat Jerry to the layoff list, and the turkeys get rewarded with a jump in their share price. I think Jules deserves to get rewarded and redeemed for his call on this one. What kind of good company lays off people in a fast growing industry? Were there reasons for this I haven't heard, or is this negative company growth in a high growth industry. Perhaps he's preparing his response for Merced already. Long term corporate strategy, "lay off more people". SERIOUS QUESTION: Intel speeds up the processors, Dragon makes good voice rec software, the web is getting better all the time, but who is going to lead us into the higher bandwith era? What small company has the technology to make me rich in 5 years? Are you up on this end of the Business??? Lee PS. I have been jealous of your coining "big silicon" for some time now. So I wanted to thank you for your "tech-cellent" responses to my many questions. Does "big silicon" mean that Merced will be the "Dolly Parton" of all chips? .
