People can comment on current events all they want, but when they take positions on uniquely formed American Institutions like unions they need, IMHO of course, to address the whereas's and whyfor's of those conditions which bought them into being because they need to address how would we deal with the reformation of those conditions if unions were done away with, and this can't be done IMHO, with out some understanding of the history of US at the time of union formation

Most of the current institutions in place are standing on historical cornerstones It helps to know the how and why the building blocks were put into place and then one is able to better judged their current functionality.
