If concealed carry was not surpressed, someone in that restaurant might have been armed. And have stopped it.

Actually, Nevada has very liberal gun laws. You can open carry without a permit and getting one for concealed is pretty easy here.

I don't know what the Guard policy is about members carrying firearms while in uniform. Pretty tough to confront a lunatic with an AK47 though, when you're sitting at a table eating breakfast.. I was told that the proprietor of an adjacent business did have a CC and was carrying, but was unable to get the shooter before he shot himself in the parking lot.

Latest is that another female Guard member died last night, bringing the total to four, of the eleven shot, not counting the shooter.. Shooter's family hasn't commented yet, other than to express condolences to the victims and their kin.

There is a news conference scheduled for 9:00 AM Pacific Time, this morning, which might provide further details.

BTW, the company I work for expressly forbids bringing or carrying firearms while on the job..
