SAN FRANCISCO and LAS VEGAS, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -_ Intelliguard
Software(R), a leader in standards-based network-attached storage management
solutions, along with Breece Hill Technologies and Crossroads Systems, today
announced a jointly developed, state-of-the-art backup and recovery solution
with fibre channel attached tape libraries. The solution is currently being
demonstrated at Breece Hill's Storage Solutions Forum in the Pompeiian
Ballroom at Caesars Palace November 17-20.
The demonstration of the industry's first storage management functionality
over a fibre channel infrastructure is another in a long line of 'Industry
Firsts' pioneered by Intelliguard. "Fibre channel is an emerging technology
which provides the opportunity for revolutionizing data protection and
availability," said Don Trimmer, Intelliguard co-founder. "Intelliguard is
uniquely positioned to take advantage of the fibre channel infrastructure to

Intelliguard's Software products are optimized for today's ultra high-
speed networked storage environments to provide backup and restore services
for both local machines and multiple networked hosts and tape drives. Using
industry-standard NDMP (Network Data Management Protocol), users are able to
automate and control the data protection while files and databases are still
running.
At Comdex, Intelliguard is demonstrating its BudTool storage management
software backing up two Solaris-based servers (a Sun Microsystems Ultra 1 and
Ultra 2), plus a Windows NT server all with fibre channel host adapters,
connected to a Breece Hill Technology Q7 DLT library through a Crossroads
Systems fibre channel/SCSI converter.
