Joe, I never had a problem with Clinton going along with Rubin on this. The problem I do have was that Rubin went to work for Citicorp after leaving his job a treasury. This is the biggest conflict of interest I have ever seen and no one including Limbaugh has ever commented on it to my knowledge. Rubin working as treasury secretary engineers a one year waver so that Citicorp can acquire Travelers a violation of Glass Stegall. I remember Maxine Waters saying that this merger would not take place. I laughed at her because I knew the approval had already been made far above her pay grade. Then Rubin helped to repeal Glass Stegall. His next job was vice chairman at Citicorp. Sure looks like a payoff to me. It bothers me that no one in the media picked up on this.

I have the same questions!!! And, Greenspan had to be in on the deal as well along with Paulsen.
