Could you ask COMS which PC OEMS are installing x2 modems in their boxes?
I called PC Mall today (because it happened to be on top of the stack of PC
catalogs I get in the mail) and told them I was interested in purchasing both a
desktop and a notebook and my only criteria was that it had to have an x2 modem
installed. The sales rep. called me back an hour later and said he had researched the
following OEM's they sell and COULD NOT FIND A SINGLE ONE THAT
USED AN X2 MODEM:

This is 3coms list, I confirmed a few:

Acer....NO, I talked to Chris Knight, I think he was the product manager, they used to.

Gateway...Yes thats all they use?

Dell
Pack Bell
HP
Micron
Hitachi...Yes
IBM...Yes
NEC

Cardinal was not on 3coms list? The Ascend tech Lynn Herrick told me they use the X2. Interesting!
