I skimmed over the wiki piece on Lindzen and it seemed balanced.
I don't know how Hansen's colleagues think of Hansen. I do know as head of GISS and therefore host of the Realclimate blog, he's a very key figure in the CAGW alarmist movement.
These seem to be the primary figures and institutions in the CAGW movement:
Key institutions: U of E Anglia CRU, NASA GISS, NCAR Boulder CA
Key players:
Phil Jones, paleoclimatologist, CRU, IPCC lead author - disgraced by leak of climategate emails Tom Wigley, modeler, CRU to NCAR Ben Santer, modeler, IPCC lead uthor, CRU to Livermore Keith Briffa, paleoclimatologist using tree ring data, CRU - revealed to be cherry picker on Siberia's Yamal Peninsula
Kevin Trenberth, NCAR, IPCC lead author Caspar Amman, NCAR, cofounder of Realclimate blog
James Hansen, modeler, head of NASA GISS from 1981, vocal climate activist Gavin Schmidt, GISS, modeler, founding member of Realclimate blog aka hockey team over defense of hockey stick chart, founded in 2004 to defend the hockey stick chart, the IPCC and CAGW from skeptical researchers, particularly McIntyre and McKitrick Stephen Schneider, modeler, IPCC lead author, GISS to Stanford, deceased
Michael Mann, paleoclimatologist using primarily tree ring analysis, primary creator of hockey stick chart used by IPCC, U VA and Penn State, founding member of GISS-run Realclimate blog Raymond Bradley, paleoclimatologist, co-author of hockey stick paper, Amherst, member of Realclimate blog, complainant of plagiarism against Wegman report (note the plagiarism addressed the discussion of social network analysis provided to Wegman by a grad student not the statistical work), confounder of Realclimate blog Malcolm Hughes, dendrochronologist (tree rings), co-author of hockey stick paper, U of Arizona |
