Paul's comments about economics and economists reminds me of The Greenhouse Effect and its equally abstruse and arcane proofs of how printing a whole lot of CO2 is going to puff the atmosphere up and really get things cooking economically, raising the temperature, melting the ice caps, deepening the oceans, strengthening hurricanes and generally creating a LOT of economic activity.

So far, both stimulus theories look like a lot of hot air which is really designed to move money from producers to governments and their hangers-on and beneficiaries of Big Brother.

No wonder people are buying gold to stash in their cellars to ride out the economic hurricanes caused by the stimulus machines and all that hot air. But the gold holder should beware because financial relativity theory can excavate their gold no matter how deep its hiding place, by quantum tunneling right into its black heart, sucking out its value and transferring it to the rightful owners, leaving a financial black hole where the gold used to be.

Disclosure.... my short of GLD is in place and QCOM is positioned to deliver the goods.
