Micron Technology, Inc., Announces Samples of 125MHz 64 Meg Synchronous DRAMs
BOISE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 1997--Micron Technology, Inc., announces the availability of 125MHz 64 Meg Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) samples. Micron's 125MHz 64 Meg SDRAM uses a 3.3V power supply and is packaged in the JEDEC standard 54-pin Thin Small Outline Package (TSOP). Micron supports the following three configurations: 16 Meg x 4, 8 Meg x 8, and 4 Meg x 16.
''Micron is manufacturing the 64 Meg SDRAM on our 0.25 micron process technology, which should enable us to meet the cost and performance targets required by our leading edge customers,'' said Kit Fawcett, SDRAM Product Marketing Manager. ''Introduction of these fast 64 Meg SDRAM components coincides with the PC market and other advanced technology markets beginning their transition from 66MHz bus speeds to 100MHz bus speeds in the first half of 1998.''
Samples of industry-standard 64MB and 128MB Dual Inline Memory Modules (DIMMs), designed for operation at 100MHz bus speeds, are also available now. ''Micron has carefully designed both the 64 Meg SDRAM components and these new modules to meet emerging industry-standard requirements, and samples of the 8 Meg x 64/72 and 16 Meg x 64/72 modules are available now,'' said Kyle Daniels, Micron's Module Product Marketing Manager. ''We will be expanding our family of 100MHz modules as our component output increases.''
''We have initiated an aggressive production ramp in our fabs to 0.25 micron process technology. Since we already have our 0.30 micron 16 Meg SDRAM in volume production, we now offer one of the most complete product lines of 125MHz SDRAM components required to build 100MHz SDRAM modules,'' said Jeff Mailloux, Micron's DRAM Marketing Manager.
For more detailed information on component specifications, datasheets can be obtained from Micron's website: www.micron.com/mti . Micron is accepting sample orders for the 16 Meg x 4 (MT48LC16M4A2TG), 8 Meg x 8 (MT48LC8M8A2TG) and 4 Meg x 16 (MT48LC4M16A2TG) SDRAM components. Orders can also be placed for samples of the 8 Meg x 64 (MT8LSD864AG-10AD1), 8 Meg x 72 (MT9LSD872AG-10AD1), 16 Meg x 64 (MT16LSD1664AG-10AD1) and 16 Meg x 72 (MT18LSD1672AG-10AD1) DIMM modules. Pricing for 64 Meg SDRAMs is similar to pricing for 64 Meg EDO DRAMs. For more information or to order samples, contact Micron Technology's Marketing Department at 208/368-3900.
Micron Technology, Inc., and its subsidiaries manufacture and market DRAMs, very fast SRAMs, Flash, other semiconductor components, personal computer systems, remote intelligent communications (RIC) products, and complex printed circuit board assemblies. Micron's common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the symbol ''MU.''
Does anyone know who supplies their steppers???
Best of FORTUNE to us all!
